The Main Campus is situated in a sheltered retreat that is idyllic in character. Beautifully landscaped with pathways and walkways, flowering bushes, tropical trees, manicured lawns, horticultural plants, native trees and medicinal herbs, the ambience of the campus is eminently suited to learning, introspection and recreation. It is conducive to the intellectual, spiritual and emotional well-being of students.

Compter Lab

The Computer lab consists of 1 Mbps leased line Internet connection with more than four class C private IP addresses in a large network consisting of more than 200 computers and several servers running on open source operating system. The computer lab is open for the students for the whole day.


The college has a world class, well-furnished A/C Auditorium cum Seminar hall with a seating capacity of 450 and a conference hall for 120 persons situated in the campus.

Digital Library

The younger generation quite obviously, is more inclined to the computer screen than flipping through the pages of books in the library. Our digital library enables greater access to a wide range of well-organized information in digital forms and makes it available for searching, retrieval and processing in user friendly ways. Our primary goal is to bring a wide range of source materials in the fields of computer science, business management & biosciences to as many individuals as possible, thereby helping to handle the information explosion and also saving time. The digital library thus boosts quality education.


Breakfast, Lunch and refreshments are served in the clean and posh ambience of the Food Court.


The Herbal Garden of MACFAST serves the functions of education, research and conservation of germplasm of medicinal and aromatic plants, wild relatives of cultivated crops, dye-bearing plants and other species of ecological /economic interests. The garden with nursery, pot culture and greenhouse facility, at present, maintains over 400 indigenous medicinal plants, including rare and endangered species.
The specialty collections include Nalpamara (composed of four species of  Ficus, such as F. racemosa, F. tinctoria ssp parasitica, F. religiosa and F. benghalensis), Triphala (composed of Phyllanthus emblica, Terminalia bellirica and T. chebula), Safed Musali (Chlorphytum borivilianum) along with Arogyappacha (Trichopus zeylanicus) Red sandal (Pterocarpus santalinus) and rare species like Adenia hondala, Aristolochia tagala, Karempferia rotunda, Myristica malabarica, Piper longum, Salacia reticulata, Semicarpus travancoricus, etc.
Efforts are being made to display the species according to their medicinal/therapeutic properties such as anti-diabetic, anti-poison, anti-fungal and anti-viral plants as also relating to  formulations in indigenous medicines like, ‘Chavanaprasam’, ‘Dasamoolam’ etc. Arboretum, shrubbery, Orchidarium, Rockery and Aquatic-biotopes are also being developed apart from lawns, mounts and topiaries.


Today with the present surge of interest in phytomedicines (plant derived drugs), other health care products (nutriceuticals) and natural dyes, accurate determination of the identity of the raw material and its source in evolving standards, is of prime importance.
The Herbarium and Raw Drug Museum of MACFAST will together provide a reliable aid for identification of such plant resources apart from contributing to taxonomic (systematic botany) research, both monographic and floristic. The facility will also serve as a repository for type materials/specimens (original collections of floristic exploration) in future.
Resource processing facility, systematically arranged herbarium specimens/sheets and catalogue are the essential components of the facility.  
A comprehensive electronic database on medicinal and aromatic plants is being developed. The museum will also exhibit three-dimensional models of cells and biomolecules apart from charts and posters on methodology and real-time work performed by the MACFAST Centre for Research and Development (MCRD).


The college provides separate hostel facilities for men and women. Women are under the direct supervision of Rev. Sisters. For men, hostel accommodation is provided in the adjacent compound under the guidance of Rev. Fathers. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the hostel facilities and become residents or alternatively stay within commuting distances. This will enable them to make maximum use of the dedicated lab and library facilities and also inculcate the tenacity to work extended hours, a trait extremely essential in the competitive professional world.


The college has full fledged bench work labs for Biotechnology, Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering, Food Analysis, Biochemistry, Protein Chemistry, Enzymology, Microbiology as well as high throughput Computational biology labs.


Students are encouraged to gain competence in Communicative English and at least one in other foreign language: French, German or Japanese. A modern Language Laboratory, with workbooks and software, such as audio-video CDs and cassettes, is provided to help improve student proficiency in these languages.


The primary objective of this Library is to cater to the needs of the faculty and students. It acts as a centre for the collection of literature, and audio-video materials specific to the needs of Computer Science, Business, Industry and Bioscience fields .The library is housed on the second floor with facilities like reading/reference room, newspaper and periodical section and a separate stack area. The library has a well-networked system with Library Management Software (LMS), developed by the SDRC, which has provisions for searching, lending, reserving, appending etc. Besides, information in the library can be availed of at the MACFAST website. The library is open for the students from 8 am to 10 pm.


Holy Mass is conducted everyday in the Mother Theresa Chapel of the College for the students. A Meditation Hall is set aside for inter-religious discourses.

Real Time Share Trading Terminal

A Real Time Trading facility has been provided by ICICI for trading on shares, mutual funds & futures and options on the National Stock Exchange & Bombay Stock Exchange. The objective of this facility is to provide an experiential learning environment in the securities market by real investment. The Athanasian Investment Fund (AI Fund) is a Fund constituted by the students with contributions from both students and faculty. The students get to work as real life Fund managers. The Return on Investment has grown at an impressive 35%. The present corpus of the fund is over Rs. 1 million.

All class rooms, syndicate rooms and seminar halls are equipped with the most modern instructional and teaching aids such as OHPs, Microphones, LCDs, and computers with appropriate boards and screens. The college bus operates from/to town before and after class hours. It also provides for student transport to attend conferences and seminars as well as to make field and factory visits to nearby centres.
